Pal Save Editor is an independent, fan-made browser workbench for Palworld save diagnosis, scoped PlZ Beta Pal IV edits, reversible fixture experiments, and recovery decisions. It is not affiliated with Pocketpair.
What the browser actually inspects
The current release inventories local file paths and roles, reads bounded ZIP entries, detects common outer signatures, calculates SHA-256 evidence locally, and checks whether expected world companions are present. Complete Steam or dedicated-server PlZ2 / 0x32 worlds may expose named players and Pals; other formats remain diagnostic.
What the evidence score means
The 0-100 score is a transparent file-set heuristic. Missing Level.sav, missing Players files for identity-sensitive tasks, unrecognized compression, tiny world files, and absent backup evidence reduce it. The score is not a corruption diagnosis or a compatibility guarantee.
How writable paths are tested
The bundled sample and pal-save-editor-world/1 JSON fixtures pass structure, reference, identity, legal-value, scope-lock, and JSON round-trip checks. PlZ Beta uses Pyodide 0.28.3 and a pinned MIT codec snapshot to prove unchanged round-trip, changed reparse, non-target equality, package hashes, and browser flow for every writable operation: Pal and player records, inventory items, technologies, the Paldeck, fast travel, and guild and base records. Byte-level splice checks, a size-prefix audit, and randomized edit sequences back each write.
Why unsupported writes stay locked
The release pins Pyodide under MPL-2.0 and a reviewed MIT codec source snapshot with recorded hashes. That evidence unlocks each operation listed in the compatibility manifest: Pal and player records, inventory items including adding, removing, and moving them, technologies, the Paldeck, fast travel, and guild and base names, camp level, and radius. Species, placement, ownership, unique items and their dynamic data, guild membership, base positions, map records, PlM/Oodle, CNK, raw GVAS, WGS, and other writes remain locked until their own bounded parsing, preservation, and packaging evidence exists.
